Let’s talk about commitment.
Not the “I started a new workout plan” kind of commitment.
We mean the “I just did ten thousand and one pull-ups in twenty-four hours” kind.
Because that’s exactly what Truett Hanes, a man who clearly doesn’t skip arm day—or any day—just pulled off.
Hanes, an American fitness machine disguised as a human, officially reclaimed the Guinness World Record for most pull-ups in twenty-four hours. He didn’t just squeak past the previous mark. He annihilated it.
This wasn’t his first go, either. Hanes had previously broken the record, only to watch it get snatched away less than a day later by Australian overachiever Gary Lloyd, who knocked out 8,600 reps like he was turning in paperwork.
Two years later, Hanes came back—and made it personal.
He didn’t just beat the old number. He obliterated it with a mind-melting 10,001 pull-ups, because apparently that one extra was just for good measure. You know, for fun.
While most of us are out here trying to survive a brisk walk or a bad plank, Hanes is grinding out six to seven pull-ups a minute. For twenty-four hours. Straight.
We’re sorry, but WHAT.
Hanes told Guinness,
“I wasn’t blessed with unique ability or super strength and things have never really come easily to me, but I have been gifted the ability to not give up on my goals.”
Okay. Fine. Now we feel things.
That quote hits deeper than our quads after leg day.
He added:
“Even if it takes years, I’ll see it through until it’s completed.”
Respect. Maximum respect.
If you’ve been thinking about quitting your goals… don’t.
Be like Truett.
(Or at least do a couple push-ups and stretch once in a while.)
